Out with 2019 and in with 2020

In 2000 when I left the bank and started working with our auction company, I had more time and started doing Christmas Letters recapping the year. Then in 2007, we moved to Nova Scotia and I was told I should get into Facebook to stay connected with my kids. Well that was the end of Christmas Letters and photo albums as everything could be documented on Facebook.
I still keep a pocket calendar and write down what is happening. It is interesting to look back; one can’t go totally digital. Looking back, I see how busy I have been and feel fortunate that I was able to complete 4 commissions this year, some paintings for Jody’s office, a few smaller paintings for Rudy’s this coming summer and a couple of iconic pours to add to my collection. Once I have a collection done, I may consider approaching some galleries to show them or apply for OSAC.
This year I was fortunate to do some traveling and get some wonderful working material for paintings. Gerald and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary by going on a trip to Europe. Then in July we were in Surrey BC doing an auction. In October I went out to Nova Scotia to check on my paintings at Granite Springs and Shaw’s Landing. I stayed with a friend and it was wonderful seeing everyone. Then in November I took a weekend trip to New York.
I have so many painting ideas for the New Year that I don’t know where to start. Pictures from my travels, iconic pours, western pours, and then maybe one day I could do the Art Gallery at the Stampede. Also I could do paintings of the surrounding area for Rudy’s and maybe a few more paintings for Jody’s office if they move to a bigger space.
Time to get focused, and make 2020 a great painting year.
